Bugisu
Nestled in the fertile highlands of Eastern Uganda, our Bugisu coffee farms are a testament to nature's perfect harmony. The volcanic soils of Mount Elgon's foothills, enriched by centuries of mineral deposits, create an ideal terroir for growing some of the world's finest Arabica coffee.
At elevations between 1,600 and 2,300 meters above sea level, our coffee plants thrive in the mountain climate, with warm days and cool nights that allow the beans to develop their signature bright acidity and complex flavor profiles. The region's abundant warm monsoon rainfall and rich biodiversity create a natural ecosystem where coffee grows in perfect balance with indigenous flora and fauna.
The unique microclimate of Bugisu, with its misty mornings and abundant sunshine, imparts distinctive winey and fruity notes to our coffee, making it highly sought after by speciality coffee enthusiasts worldwide. Each cup tells the story of this remarkable landscape and the traditional farming practices that have been passed down through generations of local farmers.
Our commitment to regenerative farming practices ensure that the natural beauty of Bugisu remains preserved. This allows us to produce exceptional coffee while protecting the environment that we live next to - a UNESCO protected bio-diversity hotspot. From the red volcanic soil to the lush green canopies of our shade-grown coffee trees, every element works in harmony to create a truly special brew.
