What makes our coffee distinctive?
Quality you can trust
Quality is the result of our process, not the start. Every lot meets rigorous standards, with speciality grade cupping scores. Roasted in small batches for optimum quality.
Single Origin Arabica
Our single origin Bugisu Arabica is grown in the rich volcanic soils of Mount Elgon, 1500 to 2300 metres above sea level, intercropped on smallholding farms. SL14, SL28 and the indigenous Nyasaland are all Bourbon varietals.
Naturally Farmed
Our coffees are naturally farmed, inter-cropped, and grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. These practices preserve the ecological biodiversity and ecosystem and improve the taste and quality.
Elevation shapes our taste
Our high-altitude growing conditions, combined with volcanic soil and careful, sustainable farming methods, result in a naturally sweet coffee with low acidity. 1600 to 2300 metres above sea level, this is a rarity.
Slower growth, better flavour
Cooler temperatures at higher elevations slow down the maturation of coffee cherries, allowing them to develop more complex sugars and deeper flavours.
Enhanced antioxidants and compounds
High-altitude beans may have a higher concentration of antioxidants and polyphenols, which are linked to potential health benefits like improved blood flow and reduced inflammation.
A lot of attention and time goes towards processing our coffee.
